How do I get a copy of the book?
All students who attend New Student Orientation in June are given a copy of the book. If you didn’t receive a copy, you can get one at the Bookstore in the Student Center on the Midtown campus.
Alternative formats of The Things They Carried are available for eligible WCSU students who are registered with WCSU AccessAbility Services.

How much does the book cost?
There is no cost for first-year students.
Why have a required reading?
Reading, interpreting and applying information will be an important part of your learning over the next year. This book is your introduction to the process. It will also prepare you to take part in a variety of activities on campus and in Danbury where you’ll explore with other students and people from the community the themes of The Things They Carried. Your “One Book, One Community” assignment gives you something in common to discuss with every first-year student.
